Choosing the right arrow is just as important as choosing the right bow. At Sahm Sports, we carry arrows in a range of materials and spines to suit every archer, every bow, and every shooting style.

Arrow Materials

• Fiberglass — Durable, affordable, and great for beginners. Fiberglass arrows are consistent and forgiving, making them ideal for recreational shooting and youth archers.
• Wood — The traditional choice, favored by longbow and horsebow shooters who want an authentic feel. Wood arrows require more care but offer a classic shooting experience.
• Carbon — The most popular choice for modern archers. Carbon arrows are lightweight, fast, and highly consistent, making them excellent for target archery and field shooting at all levels.
• Aluminum — Known for their precision and uniformity, aluminum arrows are a staple in competitive recurve archery. They offer excellent straightness and are easy to tune.

Understanding Arrow Spine

Arrow spine refers to the stiffness of the arrow shaft. Selecting the correct spine is critical — an arrow that is too stiff or too flexible for your setup will affect accuracy and consistency. Spine is determined by your bow's draw weight and your personal draw length.

Spine Selection Guide

• 20–25 lbs — Use 900 or 800 spine
• 25–30 lbs — Use 800 or 700 spine
• 30–35 lbs — Use 700 or 600 spine

Important: If you have a longer draw length or require extra-long arrows, it is customary to go down one spine number (i.e., choose a stiffer spine) to compensate for the added flex that comes with a longer shaft.
